HARPER LARPER INTERVIEW

Hi there! I've done an interview with the wonderful Harper Larper from Australia , so here goes!

Q: When did you start your blog?
A:  I started my blog harperlarper.com in January of this year and since them I have been blogging non stop! I find it so fun and am seriously obsessed now!

Q:What is your favorite part about blogging?

A:My favourite part of blogging is being able to connect with like-minded people from through out the world and as well as that being able to share and express yourself and have fun doing it!

Q: How would you describe your style?

A:Well my style is always changing and I'm constantly finding inspiration from a number of sources. I often like to experiment with different feels and I often find myself trying to create a particular vibe or setting around what I am wearing. At the moment my style is made up of a whole lot of bright colours, skirts and dresses!

Q:Where do you like to shop?
A:There are SO many amazing places to shop, labels to buy and clothing I really can't resist and SO often I am spending a huge amount of my savings on pieces! At the moment some of my favourite places and brands to shop are Princess Polly, Dangerfield, Mink Pink, Gorman and Luck & Trouble.

Q: What would you advise to other fashion bloggers?
A:Never worry about what the 'Trends' and 'Fashion Rules' are telling you to do. Have the courage to be you and embrace your style and feelings in what you wear.

I LOVE her blog, and you should go check it out! Happy (close to) Thanksgiving!

DIY TUTU

Hello and happy (close to) Halloween! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and making things is part of the fun. This year I'm dressing up as a unicorn. This is a super simple + easy DIY, and the result looks so fun!

Materials
  • Tule (I upcycled old tulle curtains, but I'd recommend between 8-10 yards, depending on how fluffy you want it.)
  • Sharp or fabric scissors
  • Elastic
  • Needle + thread
Cut to desired length, and then cut on both sides, but leave the fold on top.

Cut into multiple strips, approximately 4-6 inches wide each, but don't worry about being perfect, because tutus are supposed to look fluffy and messy.
Measure your waist and sew together both ends of elastic.
Make slip knots with bundles of 3-5 strips of tulle. Squish them together and continue until elastic is completely covered in tulle.

My shirt says, "Humans are fictional". I really couldn't help myself!  (Please radiate my unicorn vibes :)

DIY SEASHELL CANDLE

Hello there! This is my very first post on Moonflower, and I hope you enjoy!

These seashell candles were inspired by a project I saw on Pinterest, but with a little bit of trial and error, I put my own twist on them. These are quite simple, and I think that these would make an adorable gift!

    YOU WILL NEED:

  • A small jar ( I used an old baby food one)
  • Two to three tea lights
  • A knife
  • A seashell(real or fake)

boiling water (Please use a pan, I used a bowl for picture purposes :)

Step one: Poke a hole in the outer wrapping with your knife. Slowly peel away the metal, leaving a plain tea light (please be cautious) . Turning over your candle, you should see a metal circle. This is the base of the wick. Cut all of the wax around the wick, as closely as possible. Place your wick in the center of your shell.

Step two: Put all of your wax into the jar. Close the lid as tightly as possible, and place in the boiling water with tongs. This wax melts clear, so don't think it's water that leaked in.

Step three: After your wax melts,  lift the jar out of the water and unscrew with oven mits. Quickly pour into the shell. Repeat these steps until the shell is full.

Optional: Add a few drops of essential oils to the wax while still melted. I used bergamot oil. This gives the candle a scent.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY, and please subscribe to see more! QOTD (Question of the day) What is your dream candle scent? Mine would be bacon.)

XOXO,
Sonia
